Dream, Think, and Teach: What Nietzsche, Disney, and Teachers Have in Common

Introdução

Essa semana foi marcada por três datas que, à primeira vista, parecem bem diferentes, mas que têm algo muito importante em comum: o poder de inspirar. Celebramos o Dia do Professor, o aniversário de Friedrich Nietzsche, e o Dia de Walt Disney — três figuras que, cada um à sua maneira, transformaram o mundo com ideias, ensinamentos e imaginação. E, claro, tudo isso tem muito a ver com o aprendizado de inglês!

Dream, Think, and Teach: What Nietzsche, Disney, and Teachers Have in Common

The Power of the Teacher

Teachers are the foundation of every great idea. They shape minds, encourage curiosity, and inspire us to question the world around us. Whether in a classroom or online, a teacher’s mission goes beyond grammar rules or vocabulary lists — it’s about awakening the desire to learn.
Learning English, for example, isn’t just about speaking another language; it’s about opening doors to new cultures, careers, and connections. Every teacher is a guide, helping students find their voice in a global world.

Nietzsche: The Philosopher Who Taught Us to Question

Friedrich Nietzsche, the German philosopher born in 1844, wasn’t afraid to challenge the norms of his time. He questioned morality, religion, and the very concept of truth. His famous idea of the “Übermensch,” the “Overman” or “Superman,” was about becoming the best version of yourself, breaking free from limits.
In language learning, we can take inspiration from Nietzsche’s mindset: to question, to think independently, and to overcome challenges. Every mistake becomes a step toward mastery, and every new word learned is a small act of self-overcoming.

Walt Disney: The Dreamer Who Made Magic Real

If Nietzsche made people think, Walt Disney made them believe. Born in 1901, Disney revolutionized entertainment through imagination and storytelling. He created worlds where animals talked, dreams came true, and courage always won.
Disney’s journey was far from easy. He faced failures, rejections, and financial difficulties. But his belief in creativity and persistence turned him into a legend. His work reminds English learners that imagination can make learning fun. Whether through Disney movies, songs, or quotes, millions of people around the world learn English with a touch of magic.

Philosophy, Teaching, and Imagination: A Shared Lesson

At first glance, Nietzsche, teachers, and Disney couldn’t be more different. One used philosophy, another education, and the last animation. Yet, all three shared a single mission: to make people think, grow, and believe in themselves.
Learning English embodies all three ideas: the reflection of philosophy, the guidance of teaching, and the creativity of storytelling. Each new phrase, book, or movie is a bridge to a broader, more imaginative world.
